Así vivimos el más importante evento de la aviación comercial en América Latina & El Caribe

Más de 500 ejecutivos de la industria aérea, ministros de la región y un jefe de Estado se dieron cita en Panamá.

(6/11/2018 – web) Panamá.- Conectividad fue el tema central del más importante evento de la aviación comercial en la región que tuvo lugar en Ciudad de Panamá del 28 al 30 de octubre, en el que fueron anfitriones la Autoridad de Turismo de Panamá y el Aeropuerto Internacional de Tocumen, junto con la aerolínea anfitriona Copa Airlines.

En su décimo quinta edición, el ALTA Airline Leaders Forum congregó a más de 500 ejecutivos líderes de la industria aérea, autoridades de aviación civil, ministros de Estado y al Presidente de la República de Panamá, Juan Carlos Varela, quien oficializó la inauguración del evento:

«La Asociación Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Transporte Aéreo, ALTA, ha sido desde su creación el motor de la aviación regional. Ha cumplido con sus objetivos que son apoyar la industria aérea y brindar a los usuarios un servicio eficiente, seguro y sustentable, impulsando el desarrollo de la aviación y logrando que esta industria sea el motor de crecimiento económico y social de la región (…) Panamá ha realizado un gran esfuerzo para convertirnos en el Hub de las Américas. Por ello, para el gobierno de la república es de gran satisfacción que este evento se realice en nuestro país y que la organización haya establecido su casa matriz en la Ciudad de Panamá (…) Todos estos sueños, proyectos que tenemos en conjunto dependen de ustedes, dependen de la conectividad aérea, dependen de la calidad de la aviación, de la calidad de sus autoridades y, sobre todo, de la coordinación y de las plataformas como ALTA que permiten este acercamiento en Panamá hoy de la industria: autoridades y empresas privadas para proyectar su desarrollo en los próximos años», comentó durante su discurso.

El Director Ejecutivo de ALTA, Luis Felipe de Oliveira, dio la bienvenida a los asistentes: «Nuestra región viene presentando perspectivas de crecimiento muy positivas. Hoy día, la aviación en América Latina y el Caribe representa el 8% de la aviación global y somos más grandes que Medio Oriente y África juntos y esperamos que el tráfico de pasajeros en la región se duplique en los próximos 10 años, ganando aún más protagonismo en la aviación global. ALTA está en la región para impulsar este dinamismo y encontrar nuestra identidad nos ha fortalecido y puesto en el camino correcto. Muestra de ello es la confianza depositada por 12 nuevos miembros afiliados y 4 nuevas aerolíneas este año».

More than 500 executives of the aviation industry, ministers of the region and head of State gathered in Panama

(6/11/2018 – web) Panama.- Connectivity was the main theme of the most important commercial aviation event in the region, which took place in Panama City, from October 28 – 30, where the Autoridad de Turismo de Panamá and Tocumen International Airport were host, along with host carrier Copa Airlines.

In its fifteenth edition, the ALTA Airline Leaders Forum gathered more than 500 leading executives from the airline industry, civil aviation authorities, ministers of state and the President of the Republic of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, who officially inaugurated the event:

«The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association, ALTA, has been the engine of regional aviation since its creation. It has fulfilled its objectives of supporting the aviation industry and providing users with an efficient, safe and sustainable service, boosting the development of aviation and furthering the industry as the engine of economic and social growth in the region (…) Panama has done great work to become the Hub of the Americas. Therefore, for the government of the republic, it is very satisfying that this event takes place in our country and that the organization has established its headquarters in Panama City (…) All these dreams, projects we have in common; depend on you, depend on the air connectivity, depend on the quality of the aviation, the quality of its authorities and, above all, the coordination and platforms such as ALTA that allow this meeting of the industry today in Panama: authorities and private companies projecting its development in the coming years,» the President said during his speech.

Luis Felipe de Oliveira, ALTA’s Executive Director, welcomed the attendees: «Our region has shown very positive growth perspectives. Today, aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean represents 8% of global aviation, and we are larger than Middle East and Africa together and, we expect passenger traffic in the region to double in the next 10 years, getting even more leadership in global aviation. ALTA is in the region to boost this dynamism and, finding our identity has strengthened us and put us on the right track. Proof of this is the trust placed by 12 new affiliated members and 4 new airlines members this year».

The academic agenda of the event included five interactive panels and six presentations…
